Betty Jo Keifer Varmette, 83, died March 16, 2017. She was born in Isle of Wright County, a daughter of the late John and Eva Brett Keifer. Betty was retired from the Admissions Department of Southampton Memorial Hospital having been there over 30 years. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Keifer.

A devoted mother, she is survived by two sons, Bobby Varmette (Becky) and Michael Varmette (Phyllis); three grandchildren, Michelle Cobb (Brandon), Jarad Varmette and Carla Varmette, all of Franklin; a sister, Diane Worrell of Courtland; a brother, Johnny Keifer of Texas; a special nephew, Keith Worrell, of Virgina Beach and a special niece, Sheryl Wilson, of Norfolk. Betty was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church but attended Rock Church of Franklin.

A memorial service will be held 2 PM Monday March 20, 2017 at Wright Funeral Home with Pastor David Dillon officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff of the East Pavilion for the wonderful care they provided Betty Jo.
