Boykins – Betty Babb Barnes, 76, died September 17, 2008. She was born in Norfolk, a daughter of the late Jack Riddick and Oretha Beaton Babb. Mrs. Barnes was retired as a clerk after twenty plus years with Boykins Pharmacy. She, along with Tommy, was very active in the Boykins Rainbow Relay for Life and was a member of Boykins Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 57 years, David Carter "Tommy" Barnes; her son, Wayne Thomas Barnes and wife, Ann, of Virginia Beach; one sister, Linda B. Carr and husband, Bobby, of Boykins; three grandchildren, Kayce Lynn Barnes, Kara Diehl, Micah Seltzer; two great-grandchildren, Grace and Hannah Diehl; and two special nieces, Stacy Carr and Stephanie Meadows and husband, John.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 am Saturday at Beechwood Cemetery with the Rev. Raymond Bunn and John Meadows officiating.
