Suffolk – Bertha Harrell Gray, 94, died September 30, 2010 at Consulate Healthcare in Windsor. She was born in Nansemond County, the daughter of the late Edward and Katie McClenny Harrell and was predeceased by a daughter, Jean G. Brooks, a son, Emmett T. Gray, and a granddaughter, Trena Howerton.
Left to cherish her memory are four daughters, Ellen G. Yates of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Betty G. Bishop (W. J.) of Suffolk, Marion Davis (Frank) of Silver Spring, MD, and Evelyn G. Oliver of Owensboro, KY; one son, William E, Gray of Suffolk; twenty three grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 am Monday, October 4, 2010 at Holly Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Don Milner officiating. Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, is assisting the family.
