Boykins – Berkley Mack Francis, 81, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019.  A lifelong resident of Southampton County and widower of Thelma Morgan "Bootsie" Francis, he was a son of the late Herbert Mack and Doris Avent Francis and was also predeceased by a sister Shirley F. Spruill and a brother Kenny Francis.   He was a graduate of Southampton High School and a former National Guardsman.  Berkley had retired from the Virginia State Police as a Commercial Vehicle Officer and after his retirement he pursued his lifelong dream of farming with this son.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Left to cherish his memory are a son Brian Mack Francis (Bobbie Joe); was Pawpaw to the love of his life, his grandson Tyler Mack Francis; a sister-in-law Lil Francis; and many nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM Monday, May 13, 2019 in Capron Cemetery with Pastor Ron Carr officiating.  The family will receive friends at Brian's residence following the service and suggests that memorial donations be made to any favorite charity.  www.wrightfuneralhome.org
