Franklin – Benny Edward Ricks, 71, passed away April 8, 2020 at his home.

Benny was a son of the late David Randolph Ricks and Virginia Story Ricks. He attended Southampton High School and was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a Millwright at International Paper for 38 years and was a member of the Bronco Rod and Gun Club.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years Marina Henderson Ricks, two sons Ben Ricks, Jr. (Jeannette) and Bill Ricks both of Virginia Beach, two grandchildren, Benny E. Ricks, III and Ashtyn Ricks, two sisters, Shirley Hatchey (Mark) and Betty Harrison , a brother David R. Ricks (Mary) all of Franklin and several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held in Poplar Spring Cemetery with the Rev. Bill McClung officiating. The viewing will be from 9 AM to 5 PM Friday at Wright Funeral Home.
