Zuni – Beatrice Turner Brock, 93, widow of Alvin Grant Brock, went to be with her Lord and Savior August 24, 2008. She was born in Southampton County, a daughter of the late Moss McCarver and Minnie Belle Drewry Turner, and was predeceased by a sister, Sallie Edwards and a nephew, D. S. Edwards. Mrs. Brock was retired from Beale's Meat Packing. She was known throughout the area as the "Apple Jack Lady". She was a lifetime member of Black Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over sixty years. She loved her church, family, and friends.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Lillie Belle Faison; two sons, A. Grant Brock and wife, Carol, and Ivan M. Brock, all of Zuni; four grandchildren, Diana Beale and husband Johnie, of Walters, Rev. Curtis Faison and wife, Beth, of Danville, Tara Taylor and husband Tripp, and Chad Brock and wife Jill, of Zuni; and 11 great grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 11 am at Black Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Kitts and the Rev. Curtis Faison officiating. Internment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm today (Tuesday) at Wright Funeral Home and suggests memorials be made to Hope Tree Family Services, P. O.
