Franklin – Barbara Griffin Wade, 80, passed away unexpectedly August 3, 2023.   Born in Richmond and raised in Wakefield, she was a daughter of the late Hubert Jesse Griffin and Linda Holt Griffin.  She was also predeceased by her husband, Clifford Edward Wade; a sister, Jessie Griffin Turner; a brother, David Griffin; son-in-law, Thomas Neal Marks; and a special friend, Larry Long.

Barbara was a graduate of Wakefield High School and a former secretary for Farm Bureau and Franklin High School and a retired from Riverdale Elementary School.   She was a member of Franklin Congregational Christian Church and was very involved in the church and with the Women's Fellowship.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Kim Wade Marks; two grandchildren, Jordan Leigh Marks and Mariah Faith Marks; two sisters-in-law, Becky Griffin and Kathy Jane Wade; a niece, Jennifer Kencht; a nephew, George Turner (Judy); and several great nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM Monday, August 7, 2023 in Franklin Congregational Christian Church with Rev. James H. Hyatt, Jr. officiating.  A reception will follow the service in the church.  The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Franklin Congregational Christian Church.
