Franklin – Barbara Story "Bobbie Jo" Jones, 47, passed away on December 28, 2023 in her home.  She was born in Franklin and a native of Southampton County.

Barbara received a Bachelor's Degree in English from Chowan University and was a hair stylist.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, taking care of people, and loved all animals.  She was a member of Barnes United Methodist Church.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Randolph "Rabbit" Jones, Jr.; her mother, Barbara Edwards Story; her brother, Lawrence B. "Larry" Story, Jr. and his girlfriend, Meagan Ewing; her close cousins, Mary Katherine King and husband Alan King and their children, Eva and Sybbie King, Tracy Story Brooks, Carl Story, Gary Benton, Joy Lambert; an uncle, Billy Mawyer.  She was predeceased by her father, Lawrence Benjamin Story, Sr.; her special grandparents, Rufus Edwards "Pappy" Story and Lizzie Hill "Mammy" Story; her uncle, Edward C. "Man" Story and his wife Paige Powell Story; and her aunt, Diane Story Mawyer.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2PM Tuesday, January 2, 2024 in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Drew Dunn officiating.  Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery in Newsoms.  The family will receive friends from 5 to 7PM Monday in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
