Franklin – Barbara Byrd Jones, 82, widow of Henry Sinclair "Red" Jones, died August 4, 2008. She was born in Crisfield, MD, daughter of the late Ethel B. Messick and John Thomas Byrd.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Ethel J. Cook and Barbara Kay Joyner, both of Franklin; one son, William H. "Bill" Jones and fiancée, Kathy Leguanioli, of Durham, NC, special daughter, Becky P. Jones of Kennesaw, Ga.; three grandchildren, Sherry J. Agan and husband, David of Acworth, GA, Diana J. Brand and husband, Adam of Kennesaw, GA, Karen D. Cook of Franklin; and four great-grandchildren, David Agan, Jr, Zachary Agan, and Cameron and Harrison Brand; and devoted cousin, Sue C. Taylor and family; and her beloved furry children, her cats.
A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 4 pm at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Rosie officiating. Interment will follow in Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and suggests memorials be made to Partners among Cats and Canines (PACC), P. O.
