Sedley – Audrey Raiford Hancock, 86, claimed the Promise of the Resurrection February 12, 2025.  She was born in Southampton County to the late Walter H. Raiford, Sr. and Kathleen Bradshaw Raiford and is also predeceased by her husband, Howard Smith "Smitty" Hancock, Jr., and her brother, Walter H. "Junior" Raiford, Jr.

Audrey was in the first graduating class of Southampton High School and was a member of Grace Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for over 50 years.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Chris Hancock (Gina) of Sedley; a sister, Barbara Ann Raiford Brown of Manteo, NC; two grandchildren, Nicole H. Russell (Andy) and Kelly H. Magruder (Austin); four great grandchildren, Connor, Lane, Emma, and Abby; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2PM Saturday, February 15, 2025 in Grace Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Debbie Baugham officiating.  Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church and suggests that memorial donations be made to Grace Memorial United Methodist Church.
