Franklin – Audree Marie Smith Butler Owens, 89, died June 24, 2007. A native of Boykins, she was a daughter of the late Joe H. and Minnie F. Smith. She was the widow of Charles Floyd Owens and Thomas J. Butler, Sr. Audree was a member of Barnes United Methodist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are four sons, Thomas J. Butler (Marie), of Henrico, NC, Tony M. Butler (Brenda) of Franklin, John W. Butler (Rose) of Newsoms, Danny G. Butler ( Karen) of Franklin; three sisters, Myrtle Bunch of Florida, Lillian Lee of Richmond, Elsie Lewis of Portsmouth; one brother, Lewis Smith (Cindy) of Como, NC, fifteen grandchildren; twenty nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters and a brother.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 11 am Tuesday in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, today from 7 to 8:30 pm and suggest memorials be made to the American Heart Association, Mid-Atlantic Affiliate, 4217 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, Va. 23060-9979.
