Franklin – Arlean Luter Ricks, 68, died February 5, 2010 at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was born in Ivor, a daughter of the late Joseph W. and Cora Munford Luter, and was predeceased by a sister Ida May Vick. Mrs. Ricks was retired from Union Camp Corporation after 25 years in Data Processing, and was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 48 years, David Randolph Ricks, Jr.; three daughters, Renee Ricks Felts (Michael), Rhee Ricks Cumbey (Bobby), and Randi Ricks Foster (Jimmy), all of Franklin; six grandchildren, Casey Cumbey, Andy Foster, Hillary Drake, Bradleigh Cumbey, Alexis Foster, and Taylor Felts; two sisters, Linda Murphy and Jo Anne Kitchen; a longtime friend, Deloris Barnes; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 pm Monday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home with Bobby Cumbey officiating. Interment will follow in Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm today (Sunday) at the funeral home and suggests memorials be made to Courtland Baptist Church Building Fund, 22264 Main Street, Courtland, Va. 23837.
