Franklin – Ardyce Ilene Koenig (age 86) died at home on September 30, 2023.  She was born February 19, 1937 in Sterling, Colorado to Carlton Robert Cossey and Mildred Magdalene McFarland.

Ilene is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert Lawrence Koenig; two sisters-in-law, Pat Cossey of Selah, WA and Linda Kubiel of Livonia, MI; two daughters, Diane Morgan (Pete) in Cary, NC and Joan Woodie in Lexington, KY; four grandchildren, Ashten and Erin Morgan, Brad Woodie (Shannon), and Heather Woodie (Ryan). She was predeceased by her brother Larry Cossey of Selah WA. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was a registered nurse working at Southampton Memorial Hospital for 20 years, active with the Literacy Council, Girl Scouts and a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She was an enthusiastic champion for the Navy Marine Corp Norfolk Layette program, personally knitting over 200 blankets for the military support program. She thoroughly enjoyed her Mah Jongg, knitting and pool friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church on Saturday, October 14th at 2PM. A reception at the church will follow the service.
