Franklin – Ann Marie Brotzman passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11 with the love and prayers of both family and friends at her bedside. She fought a courageous fight, as all would expect from her. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years Lloyd E. (Bud) Brotzman, her parents Marie F. and William H. Clark and her sister and brother-in-law Beverly and Bill McGhee.
She is survived by her three sons, W. Craig (Karen) of Richmond, VA, Brian E. (Teresa) of Plano, TX, and R. Keith Brotzman of Chesapeake, VA. Additionally, four grandchildren, Chris Brotzman, Erica Brotzman (Adam), Brandon Brotzman (Amanda) and Ashley Brotzman. She also had two great-grandchildren, Cason and Collier Brotzman. She also had three nephews and an extended family through the McGhees of Richmond, VA.
Ann Marie grew up in Richmond, VA, attended Thomas Jefferson H.S. and then Madison College (now JMU). She also graduated from MCV with a degree in medical technology. Ann Marie was always a sports fan and followed her three sons in all their athletic endeavors. She loved the game of golf and continued playing into her eighties. She loved the fellowship and friendships she obtained through sports.
She and Bud were life-long members of the Franklin Presbyterian Church (FPC) and considered it the foundation of their lives. They both served on numerous church committees. Ann Marie was always active in the community serving on the Southampton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Board. Additionally, she and Bud were life-long members of both the Franklin YMCA and Cypress Cove Country Club.
A memorial service will be held at Franklin Presbyterian Church, 405 Lee Street, Franklin, VA on Friday, March 21st at 1:00 PM. All are invited to a reception following the service at The Two Sisters Event Venue, 205 S. Main Street, Franklin, VA. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Franklin Presbyterian Church.
