Franklin – Allen James Butler, 78, died January 29, 2009. Formally of Willow Grove, PA, he was a son of the late Clarence and Alice Butler and was a retired Quality Control Inspector.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 13 years, Susan Marie Butler; two daughters, Sandra Duby and Denise Benales; two sons, William and Scott Butler; one step-daughter, Kathryn Monti; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Kristen, Kenneth, Ben, Ryan and Megan. He was predeceased by a son, David.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Emmanuel Episcopal Church with the Rev. Edmund Pickup, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home and suggests memorials be made to Emmanuel Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 146 Franklin, VA. 23851. The family would like to thank the East Pavilion staff and Dr. Ponder for the wonderful care given to Al.
