Courtland – Alisa Pope Starling, 64, passed away peacefully in her home February 17, 2024 with her family at her bedside.

Alisa was a native of Southampton County and was a daughter of the late Emmett Paul Pope and Doris Harrup Pope. She was a graduate of Southampton High School and was retired after 30 years of service from Narricot Industries. She enjoyed bingo, crafting, canning vegetables and cooking.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 38 years, Joe Earl Starling, a sister, Roselyn Martin and her fur baby, Katie Bug. Alisa was predeceased by a brother, Emmett "Buddy" Haley Pope.

A funeral service will be held at 2PM Wednesday, February 21, 2024 in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Parron officiating. The burial will follow in the New Annex of Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and suggests that memorial donations be made to your favorite Humane Society.
