Franklin – Alexander Webb "Pete" Hatch, Sr., 84, widow of Virginia Gillette Hatch, died January 4, 2008. A native of Prince George County and a resident of Franklin for 61 years, he was the last surviving and youngest of 9 children of the late Chester and Mary Ellsworth Hatch. Pete was predeceased by a son William Frank "Billy" Hatch, Sr. A US Navy veteran of WWII, he was a retired millwright from Union Camp Corporation and was a member of Franklin Congregational Christian Church.
Left to cherish his memory is a son, Alexander Webb "Alex" Hatch, Jr. of Richmond; two grandchildren, William F. "Bill" Hatch, Jr. and wife, Laura, of Franklin, Tracy Lynn Hatch and wife, Indu, of New York; three great-grandchildren, Aiden and Olivia Hatch and Tracy L. Hatch, Jr. and a special friend Margaret Bendall.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 am Tuesday at Poplar Spring Cemetery with the Rev. James H. Hyatt officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8:30 pm at Wright Funeral Home and suggests memorials be made to National Kidney Foundation of Virginia, 5001 W.
