Franklin – Alda May Blythe, 85, widow of William Kelly Blythe, Sr., passed away April 17, 2007 at Britthaven of the Outer Banks in Nags Head, NC. Mrs. Blythe was born in Franklin County, NC, a daughter of the late Zollie Thomas and Elsie Pearce May. She was a retired LPN and a member of Sebrell United Methodist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Carolyn B. Bland and husband, James, of Sedley, Brenda B. Holland of Carrsville, Arlene B. Palmer and husband, Top, of Nags Head, NC; two sons, William K. Blythe, Jr. and wife, Karen, of Courtland, Donald T. Blythe, Sr. and wife, Lynn, of Franklin; three sisters, Lois M. Jones and Joyce M. Stanley and husband, Robert, all of Swansboro, NC, Senora M. Wheless and husband, James, of Louisburg, NC; two brothers, Claude T. May and wife, Madie, of Raleigh, NC, Adrian May and wife, Alice, of Scotland Neck, NC; sixteen grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Blythe was predeceased by a son, Douglas T. Blythe, a sister, Claire May, and a brother, A. K. May.
A funeral will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Mary Marshall and Donald T. Blythe, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8:30 pm at the funeral home and other times at the home of James and Carolyn Bland in Sedley. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
