Zuni – Albert Francis Atkins, Jr., 61, passed away July 10, 2021 in his home.   He was born on February 20, 1960 in Petersburg, VA.

Albert was a 1978 graduate of Franklin High School and a long-time painting contractor in the area for 40 years.  He was an accomplished guitarist and played in several bands.  Albert beautified many homes with his painting and entertained many with his musical performances.  He was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church and a longtime part of the Black Creek Community.

Left to cherish his memory is a daughter, Erica Atkins Horton (Derrick); a son Dustin Atkins (Brandy); his mother, Linda Atkins Porter; a brother, Hank Atkins (Lora); and six grandchildren, Bailey Holt, Logan and Landon Horton and Brayden, Keira, and Duran Atkins.  Albert was predeceased by his father, Albert Frances Atkins, Sr., and a sister, Marie Hedgepeth.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, July 17, 2021in Black Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Richard Inman officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and a reception will be held in the church after the service.  They suggest that memorial donations be made to Black Creek Baptist Church or any favorite charity.
