Newsoms, VA – Adelle Vick Drake, 85, passed away on December 10, 2011 at the East Pavilion. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Willie Thomas, "Sonny Boy" Drake; her parents, Rufus and Dellie Flythe Vick; sisters, Bessie Barrett, Nellie Drake and Eunice Gray and her brother, Clyde Vick. She was a lifelong member of Barnes United Methodist Church where she had been a member of the choir and the United Methodist Women.
Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Willie T. "W.T." Drake, Jr. and wife, Paula and Randy C. Drake; grandchildren, Kevin Drake and wife, Suzanne, Eric Drake and wife, Cheryl, and Kimberly Belcher and husband, J.T.; great-grandchildren, Cadence Belcher, Brooklynn Drake, Kyle Thomas Drake, and Garrett Thomas Drake.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Monday, December 12, 2011 at Barnes United Methodist Church with Rev. Darwin Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Barnes United Methodist Church, General Treasury Fund c/o Cheryl Turner, 33080 Cypress Swamp Road, Newsoms, VA 23874.
