Sedley - Adele Boothe Pond passed away at age 95 on April 15, 2009. She was born in Southampton County on March 13, 1914, and was the widow of Joseph Lee Pond. She was the daughter of the late Peter G. and Bessie W. Boothe of Southampton County.She was predeceased by a sister, Esamond B. Cornwell; a brother, William H. Boothe; and a precious grandson, Joey P. Branche.
Survivors include three daughters, Beverly P. Branche (Patrick), Jeanne P. Winslow, and Sandra P. Perschetz (Charles). She is also survived by six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was an accomplished artist and gardener, and also made the world's best fried chicken and biscuits.
A graveside service will be held at 1 pm Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley, Va., with a visitation/reception to follow at the Sedley Baptist Church, where she was a long-time member.
